Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient on-premise infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated code deployment using Docker and Kubernetes, adapted for on-premise architectures.
  • Implement and maintain database solutions, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), ensuring performance and security within an on-premise setup.
  • Develop scripts to automate operations and system management, aiming for the reduction of manual tasks and improvement of infrastructure performance (i.e., Infrastructure as Code).
  • Conduct system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Research, recommend, and implement cybersecurity measures in accordance with DoD standards to protect systems and data in an on-premise environment.
  • Participate in the planning and design of resilient IT infrastructure with a strong focus on security, preparing for future integration with cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve the company’s engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security.
  • Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of operational processes and procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve emergent service problems; build tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in using container technologies such as Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes, with a focus on on-premise implementations.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL database administration, setup, and fine-tuning in on-premise environments.
  • Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Expertise in a CI/CD environment and processes (e.g., GitLab, GitOps)
  • Significant experience in implementing cybersecurity solutions in compliance with DoD security requirements.
  • Solid understanding of traditional network architectures and security technologies.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 certification requirements for IAT Level II or higher, IAM Level I or higher, or equivalent CSSP certifications as applicable to the role.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in leading DevOps projects, especially in an on-premise context.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar.
  • Awareness and foundational knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, preparing for future transitions.

Required Security Clearance:

Secret clearance accepted, but must be able to obtain a TS/SCI
