Responsibilities:

The Mid-Level Modeling and Simulation Analyst provides direct support to the Lethality Business Unit with the following skill sets:

  • Technical background in math, physics, and computer science or software engineering
  • Good problem solver who can generate solutions for abstract problem definitions
  • Capable of applying statistical methods to yield meaningful information from simulation data
  • Technical ability in Python programming and C++ programming (or another compiled language)
  • Technical ability to develop physics models surrounding impact and penetration mechanics
  • Technical ability to conduct code analysis and interpret code output
  • Ability to identify software requirements and capture in a software specification
  • Proficient in Agile Software Development
  • Proficient in Python and familiar with Julia programming languages

Qualifications:

BS (minimum) MS (desired) degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Math/Physics, or computer science and software engineering with a minimum 5 years professional experience in Science and Technology, with desired emphasis modeling, simulation, and analysis.

The candidate must have skill and experience in C++ programming and be able to write and verify code that simulates physical events.  Other desired programming skills are Python and C#.  Other desired skills include Jupyter notebooks and python based GUI development.

The candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, and Excel) in order to generate reports and briefings.

The candidate must be able to analyze lethality data, code input, and analyze trends in code output to test code viability.

Interest in high performance computing or data science is a plus

Clearance Requirements: Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
