Responsibilities:

Candidate will support system administration duties for a government’s enterprise services and infrastructure commodity line.  The selected candidate will be responsible for working with a team of senior systems administration staff that will provide information technology support to operate and maintain servers, hardware, software and customers of Joint Technical Data Integration (JTDI), U.S. Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), and NAVAIR subsidiaries.

The team operates in a structured environment requiring regular and consistent documentation of activities and procedures applied to all activities.

Qualifications:

 Required Skills:

  • Provide administration for Enterprise Microsoft environments.
  • Review current system and make technical/process recommendations for improving efficiency.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in response to customer requests.
  • Coordinate with customers to upgrade, retire or consolidate applications and server hardware as appropriate.
  • Research and/or contact vendors regarding technical problems and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot servers.
  • Document systems deployments and configurations.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter, be detail-oriented, have strong written and verbal communication skills and work well with others.
  • Candidate must be familiar with both Windows client and Windows Server architectures.
  • Candidate must possess minimum 4 years of experience in Information Technology, including user support, server and workstation operations, and maintenance.
  • Candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency in both Windows hardware and software troubleshooting, repair, and fresh installations.
  • Candidate must perform regular documentation activities.

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, and routing principles
  • Installation, configuration, and support of servers, enterprise storage and associated equipment, network and direct attached storage systems and associated equipment.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms.
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve operations productivity.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Active Directory (AD).
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco and TCP/IP networking. Configuration of switches and routers in a must.
  • Working knowledge of patching, troubleshooting, configuration and installation of Linux-variant operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, and routing principles.
  • Experience with backup technology, storage, fault tolerance, ESXi a plus.
  • Industry professional certification in Linux / Windows / Cisco

Educational Requirements:

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required and must be maintained.

Clearance Requirements:

Current DoD SECRET clearance is required
